Carnegie Hall Citywide: Miguel Zenón & Luis Perdomo
Please note the A train is not running north of 168th Street. Take the 1, or transfer to the 1 at 168th Street, to 191st Street. Take the tunnel to Broadway (do not take the elevator), then go one block west to Bennett Avenue.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, saxophonist Miguel Zenón is one of today’s leading jazz giants who makes Washington Heights his home. A multiple Grammy nominee, MacArthur and Guggenheim Fellow, Miguel tours internationally as a bandleader, composer, and arranger, drawing inspiration from the Puerto Rican Songbook to contemporary jazz voices.
For his MOSA appearance, Miguel teams up with duo partner, Venezuelan pianist Luis Perdromo, in an excavation of the Cuban Bolero. The popular Latin American ballad has traversed and morphed across South America, and landed right in the heart of NYC.
